Expertise
The secret ingredient in your energy-cured, high-performance industrial coatings? RDC’s expertise.
Any substrate. Any energy curing technology. Any application process. Any industry.
Whatever your unique coating and finishing parameters are, RDC Coatings’ team of experienced chemists and engineers have the expertise you need. With a singular focus on developing energy cured coatings, RDC delivers solutions that other manufacturers cannot.
When you partner with RDC to custom engineer your sustainable, ultraviolet (UV), Excimer UV, and electron beam (EB) energy-cured coatings and compatible water-based (WB) finishes, you’ll experience an exceptional total quality process and superior customer service.
Every RDC coating includes a range of services designed to help maximize your production line’s efficiency — and enhance finished product quality—while boosting throughput. The first step is an initial on-site audit of your production line and assessment of your substrate, application method, curing technology, and finished product.
Further, as part of its commitment to every customer’s success, you’ll experience RDC’s ongoing process management audits. These evaluations will regularly examine your production line to monitor equipment operation and coating performance. RDC’s assessments frequently result in recommendations for improved efficiency, productivity, and throughput.
RDC’s sustainable, custom formulations are developed to optimize all aspects of your operation. The coating’s chemistry is designed by RDC’s chemists and engineers based on information collected during the initial on-site audit of your processing line. Your optimal, environmentally friendly coating chemistry is formulated, tested, and verified in RDC’s in-house labs, as well as on your finishing line to confirm optimal performance.
State-of-the-art lab capabilities allow RDC’s team to create your superior energy cured coatings. In the development lab, several chemistries that impart your desired finish characteristics for your substrate are incorporated into your custom coating formulation.
The formulation is then tested in RDC’s application lab. Here, your process conditions are replicated based on the findings of the initial on-site audit. The lab incorporates roll coating, spray coating, curtain coating, and vacuum coating application methods.
The application lab also features a new ultraviolet (UV) curing conveyor equipped with lamps that emit the full spectrum: microwave; gallium-, mercury-, and iron-based; LED; ARC; and Excimer lamps. With this system in-house, RDC can refine the prospective formulation prior to sending you a test batch.
RDC’s industry leading quality standards ensure lot-to-lot consistency of your products.
Businesses in a wide range of industries turn to RDC for its reputation for solving challenges. Some companies want to create coatings that improve upon their existing chemistries, allowing them to expand their product offerings to their customers. Other operations ask RDC to engineer new solutions that address functional or process challenges — such as fluctuations in temperature and humidity, or degradation of curing technologies.
Additionally, RDC can provide consulting services to companies looking to build a new production line or curing process. RDC’s expert team of engineers and chemists are available to make recommendations and offer advice on the types of equipment to be purchased.
