Ultraviolet (UV) Curable Coatings
Our UV coatings are made to order, so they will cure under the type of UV lamp your manufacturing process already uses. Our environmentally friendly UV curable coatings are custom formulated to match your product, including those made of wood, vinyl, metal, plastic, flooring, or any specialty material.
Excimer UV Curable Coatings
Excimer UV curable coatings from RDC are an advanced technology that offers numerous advantages in applications requiring ultra-matte, chemically resistant, and soft–touch finishes. These UV curable coatings are ideal for electronics, such as cell phones and other haptic-responsive technologies.
Water-Based Curable Coatings
Whether you manufacture wood products for cabinetry, flooring, or millwork, RDC Coatings can provide specially engineered and custom formulated water-based wood coatings. When formulating your water-based wood floor coating, RDC selects chemistries that cure quickly and consistently, increasing throughput.
Electron Beam (EB) Curable Coatings
Our custom engineered EB curable coatings contain little to no VOCs, making them a sustainable finishing option. Additionally, the EB curing process does not require heat, further minimizing energy consumption and reducing a manufacturer’s carbon footprint.
Be assured that your coating’s formulation will contain:
- Low or No Volatile Organic Compounds (Low-VOC/Zero-VOC)
- Low or No Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs)
- No “Forever Chemicals” Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl (PFAs)

Five Ways RDC’s Energy Cured Coatings Improve Sustainability
Because UV and EB curing occurs at room temperature, their energy consumption is at least 50% less than thermal methods, such as gas- or electric-powered ovens.
UV and EB curable coatings contain low or no volatile solvents, which contribute to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
UV and EB technologies can reduce an operation’s Scope 1 carbon footprint because they don’t require use of natural gas or solvent oxidation to cure the coating. Additionally, they use less energy, which reduces Scope 2 emissions.
UV and EB systems can cure a coating at higher speeds and in a much smaller space than the square footage required by large, gas- or electric-powered ovens.
UV and EB curable coatings resist scuffs, scratches, abrasions, and chemicals, extending the usable lifespan of the product to reduce waste.
